Today I listened to an excellent seminar given by IDS alum, Asif Munier (MADev05) about his experiences of working with both the Rohingya population in Bangladesh and the agencies and governments trying to find ways to help them. (Download the presentation)

The lunchtime seminar was hosted at IDS as part of a series that the Brighton-IDS-Sussex Network on Forced Displacement, Design and Cities has been hosting, and was ably chaired by Dolf te Lintelo.

After Asif's main talk, which covered the important contextual history of Rohingya (and other) migration in Bangladesh, as well as his perspective on what the main issues are and what solutions could be possible. The question and answer session gave the audience the opportunity for a more detailed discussion.
