Our Mentoring & Advice Programme facilitates three kinds of mentoring and advice for professional and careers development 👇
💚 Ask-an-Alum is our online tool for quick advice and knowledge sharing over one or two virtual sessions
💚 Use it to find and connect with Online Mentors for support and advice on a variety of professional development and careers topics
💚 Useful for creating a space for impactful knowledge sharing with no pressure for a long-term relationship (although can be a trial for a new one-on-one mentoring relationship)
💚Matched Mentoring is one-on-one mentoring which is probably the type that comes to mind when you think of mentoring.
💚We match one mentor and one mentee to enter into a 6-month relationship to help the mentee develop, improve and achieve their goals.
💚The IDS Alumni Network Matched Mentoring scheme is administrated by the alumni relations office and is open for applications from new mentors and mentees twice a year.
💚Group mentoring is a form of mentoring where one mentor works with several mentees in a group
💚Mentees are the driving force in Group mentoring, each mentee brings their own goals, perspectives and experiences
💚Works best for those who learn collaboratively
💚Our aims and objectives for our Programme looking to contribute to the career and professional development of our alumni and students
💚Support available to mentors and mentees using any of our three schemes
