Applications to be a mentor or mentee in the Matched Mentoring Scheme are now open!

In this scheme, the Alumni Office will match one mentor and one mentee to start a 6-month mentoring relationship. Mentoring will be largely guided by the needs and preferences of the mentee.

As a mentee in our Matched Mentoring scheme, you have the opportunity to develop, improve, and gain new skills towards achieving your professional goals. This could be in terms of confidence, sector knowledge, managing professional relationships, or insights into sourcing and being successful with work experience opportunities.

As a mentor you will have the opportunity to develop leadership skills, learn new perspectives. You also have the chance to support a student or recent graduate of IDS, and to help shape the future leaders of global development.

To apply to be a mentee, please complete the application form here.

The deadline to apply is Wednesday 15th October (the forms will close at 23:59 GMT).

*Kindly note, that you must have an online Alumni Network account to be able to access the forms.

To help us make a successful match, we ask that applications are detailed. Please note that we cannot guarantee that you will be matched during this round. Successfully matched pairs are expected to:

  • Attend an online mentoring workshop in November
  • Meet with their mentee/mentor at least once a month for 6 months.
