We were delighted and proud to see recent MA Globalisation, Business & Development alum Tanjila Mazumder Drishti (MAGlob10) selected to represent Bangladesh as a SDG Global Talent at the prestigious UNLEASH Innovation Lab 2019, supported by the UN Global Compact.
UNLEASH is a global innovation lab that brings together people from all over the world to transform 1,000 personal insights into hundreds of ideas, and build lasting global networks around the Sustainable Development Goals. The UNLEASH Innovation Lab 2019 will take place in Shenzhen, China November 6-13.

Drishti has been particularly chosen to help develop strategies and interventions for SDG 11: Sustainable Cities & Communities and will be the only Bangladeshi national working on SDG 11 at the global incubation lab this year.

“Bangladesh is facing rapid urbanisation, rural to urban migration is on the rise and a significant number of people live uncertain lives in the slums; while we strive to develop our cities it is essential that the development does not come at the cost of leaving the urban poor deprived of their basic rights. I want to ensure that our city development plans take a pro-poor approach”
Tanjila Mazumder Drishti

The teams go through an innovation process designed by UNLEASH. After five days, the talents pitch their ideas to mentors, experts and investors and the best solutions are picked. UNLEASH ends with a Closing Ceremony, where solutions are celebrated along with VIPs from China and abroad.

If any other IDS alumni have selected for UNLEASH this year please get in touch we’d love to hear from you.
