We know that past IDS dissertations are a popular resource for current students in particular, so we have attached a list of the Masters’ and Mphil dissertations that BLDS holds in full-text  which you are welcome to consult in the library.

Digitization of Masters and MPhil dissertations could be done and may be helpful to other IDS students.  This would require
1. The author and copyright holder to give permission for digitization and sharing to take place
2. Funding for the digitization process - Digitisation from print, such as the digitisation of BLDS’ Southern research, allows for data-mining. Software has been designed to search through internet texts whereas some forms of placing information online do not allow for this ‘look within the text’. This provides searches for keywords within a text which is a higher quality than a standard scan or pdf, it also allows Google and others to give higher visibility to material in a subject area
