Mentoring & Advice |
IDS Alumni Mentors Group |
Ask An Alum is an online tool designed to help knowledge sharing between IDS alumni, without the pressure to develop a long-term mentoring relationship.
Opt in to being an Online Mentor by completing the following steps:
Online members of the IDS Alumni Network can find Online Mentors through Ask-An-Alum Search. Search results will bring up Online Mentors who match search criteria, with Featured Online Mentors highlighted at the top of the list. Search results will not show members who have opted out of mentoring, have limited message requests, or do not match search criteria.
Online Mentors will be notified of Ask An Alum requests via email from the IDS Alumni Network website. You will see the message of the alum requesting your advice, and a series of options for your response. By clicking your preferred response option, your decision will be communicated to the IDS Alumni Office.
If you are unable to help, you will be redirected to update your mentoring settings.
If you select to help, you will be redirected to your IDS Alumni Network messages, where you can reply directly.
From here, you can whatever communication platform suits you and the alum seeking your advice. Please still ensure to click the response link in your email. This allows the IDS Alumni Office to monitor the system.
Once you have opted in to being an Online Mentor, you are added to the Mentors Group and will be invited to join Mentoring Skills Workshops hosted by the Alumni Office.
If you need any further assistance please contact the IDS Alumni Relations Office via email alumni@ids.ac.uk
