You are warmly invited to join IDS Director Professor Melissa Leach, IDS alumni and partners at an alumni event in London. The event links with a week-long celebration of 30 years of the joint University of Sussex and IDS MA in Gender and Development. IDS and Sussex have played a critical role in convening debates and pushing progress around gender over the past 30-40 years; gender is now integrated across much (if not all) areas of development and all alumni are welcome. "Gender Justice: How far have we come?" will explore the evolution of the MA Gender and Development course to understand how and why it remains relevant today, as well as sharing priority directions for the Gender and Sexuality research cluster. There will be an opportunity for attendees to share experiences – whether from work or life – and time for networking and meeting old and new friends. Please join us at Cathedral View (nearest tube stop is Victoria) for: Welcome, Presentation and Workshop from 6pm to 7.30pm Reception from 7.30pm to 8.30pm For details on other ways to get involved in the 30th anniversary of the MA Gender & Development course #MAGen30, which runs 6 to 10 November, please see our news story. The evening is organised by the IDS Alumni office and hosted by MA Gender and Development convenors and the Gender and Sexuality Cluster. In line with IDS' goal of 'working locally and globally within a universal framing of development' the venue for the event is run by a homeless charity The Passage and all profits support their work. For more information on their work please see this short video.
