Once you've found an alum you would like to connect with on Ask-an-Alum, you can message them directly. We have compiled the following tips to help you draft a message to leave a good first impression:
Once you have made contact, the next step is to arrange a conversation. The mode of communication can be agreed based on what suits both mentor and mentee best. Sessions typically last between 30-60 minutes. In your conversation, you can elaborate on your initial question. Be specific and clear about your discussion points, but go into the session with an open mind. You can still learn, even if your mentor cannot answer a specific question.
