The Organization of American States (OAS) will celebrate the fifteenth anniversary of the adoption of the Inter-American Democratic Charter (IADC) on September 13th, 2016 in the Hall of the Americas located in Washington, DC.
OAS Secretary General, Luis Almagro, will open the event and the keynote speakers will be former presidents of Peru and Guatemala, Alejandro Toledo and Alvaro Colom; the US Under Secretary State for Political Affairs, Thomas Shannon; and former Prime Minister of Canada Jean Chrétien. The President of the Permanent Council and Ambassador of Bahamas, Elliston Rahming, will deliver closing remarks.
The meeting will be broadcast live on the OAS Website.
