With the IDS building slowly coming back to life following the Covid-19 lockdown we are undertaking a participatory rejuvenation process to inspire staff, students and visitors about all we do, our values and commitment to participation and equal representation of diverse global voices.
Part of this work involves the creation of two exhibition spaces, where paintings, photographs, and other artworks from the IDS community will be displayed. Our aim is for these spaces to be refreshed twice yearly and to make it as accessible as possible for all. One of these exhibition spaces is to be curated by students studying at IDS during the last academic year (2020-2021).
As we prepare for our very first exhibition, the Building Imagery Committee is inviting your input as to what its theme could be and we are keen to know if you have any art (or ideas for artworks), you would like included in this and future exhibitions.
We welcome all theme ideas but please be mindful that broad ideas tend to work best as they enable the curator to include a wide variety of artworks. To submit your ideas please complete this two-minute survey by Wednesday 18 August 17:00 (BST).
Once we receive your ideas, the Building Imagery Committee will vote on which theme we will develop. We will then ask members of the IDS community (including, students, staff, and alums) to submit artworks on this theme.
