The Switzerland alumni network arranges a get-together at least once a year to catch up and discuss what we can do to support IDS throughout the following year. This usually happens at the end of the summer. A small group of us also meets on an almost monthly basis to provide support to each other and sharing advice on successfully combining career and parenthood in international Geneva. Please contact the Alumni Ambassador if you would like to join this group.
On 24 October 2015 the Switzerland Alumni Group with invaluable support from the IDS Alumni Office held a pre-event for IDS's 50th anniversary. Titled "50 Years Behind the Scenes: IDS’s Influence on the UN Development Agenda. What Next?" the event was held during the Open Day for the UN's 70th anniversary celebrations in Geneva. About 19,000 came to the Palais des Nations and made the most of the range of cultural and intellectual events, exhibitions and tours that were on offer, making it a huge success. We were proud to see IDS's event prominently featured in the flyer of the programme.
